At Capital Kitchens & Interiors Ltd, we are primarily a kitchen design and joinery manufacturer business, specialising in manufacturing and installing custom made kitchens suited to the needs of the customer from initial consultation to finalising design and manufacture. We will be with you through the whole process so you get exactly what you want, with over 20 years of experience in the kitchen and joiner trade – quality can be assured!
Bruce Smith
Managing Director / Joiner and Designer / Your go to guy
Bruce has worked in Wellington and London, in the cabinetry/joinery industry all his working life. He has over 20 years kitchen experience, always producing high quality joinery.
Bruce has extensive experience with working for an award-winning Design and Joinery Company in London (2008-2013), designing and manufacturing superior quality kitchens and interiors, demonstrating flair, creativity and innovation.
Bruce is a member of NKBA & BNI. This provides a positive, supportive, and structured environment for the development and exchange of quality business practices and referrals. It does so by helping build personal relationships with dozens of other local qualified business professionals.
Andrea Smith
Office Manager / Accounts / Your go to lady
Andrea is a qualified and experienced primary school teacher by day and works alongside Bruce to ensure a smooth sailing, behind the scenes, running of Capital Kitchens and Interiors Ltd. She is often at the end of an email, arranging the initial consultations and managing the accounts.
There are also three mini cabinet makers in training, in our children and they love to work alongside daddy, especially sweeping the workshop or hammering some plywood. Don’t worry they won’t be working on your kitchen just yet.
Lara
Senior Designer
Lara has been with us since November 2019. She is a creative designer, with an eye for detail and flair. She has experience in both high end residential and in the commercial sector putting kitchens into spec homes all over the North Island.
Lara will visit your home to discuss your needs, wants and dreams for your new kitchen or interior joinery and then create a design that is functional and individual to your needs. When she's not helping people create their dream kitchen she is kept busy with her two children and various hobbies including social dancing and photography!
Ashur
Qualified Cabinet Maker
Ashur is a qualified cabinet maker, who joined our team as an apprentice in March 2017. He completed his apprenticeship and now leads our workshop. Ashur maintains a high standard of craftsmanship to follow designs, cut timber and ensemble our custom built kitchens or interior projects. Ashur can also be found out on jobs installing and adding the finishing touches. He enjoys how each day is different and loves a good challenge. It’s always rewarding seeing the end product.
Ashur has a beautiful young family and has just completed a new kitchen and renovations on his own home.
Ben
Apprentice, Cabinet Maker
Ben is our apprentice cabinet maker and joined the team in July 2021. Ben brings a great deal of life experience from many years in a career as a truck driver. He changed careers and took up joinery to be around more for his son after working on his own home with timber. Ben is training with BCTIO and attends block courses and is guided in our workshop to develop his cabinet making skills.
