Redwood Ave, Tawa
Kiwi Kitchen
The Challenge
Clare wanted to maximise bench space for plenty of work surface and create the best use of corner storage. She also wanted to open up the kitchen by having a wall removed but still wanted the storage for her books which was adjacent to the wall being removed. Clare wanted Capital Kitchens and Interiors to manage the whole project.
The Solution
We project managed the whole job which began with coordinating with the builders to have a wall removed to open up the kitchen space. From here, we were able to design an open and functional kitchen with a large benchtop which we incorporated a breakfast bar with a built in bookshelf for all Clare’s books. We used a magic corner to optimise space and make getting into the corner cupboard a breeze. We coordinated all trades including a builder, plumber, flooring and electrician.
The Results
White melamine custom-built cabinetry with an extra-wide soapstone laminate benchtop. An aqua splashback ties the kitchen together and adds a splash of colour, and an under mounted sink was incorporated to prevent food collecting in the joins around the sink and for an easy clean. One very happy client!

I absolutely love our new kitchen which was designed, manufactured and installed by Capital Kitchens earlier this year. Bruce made the initial plans but was very responsive to any changes that we wanted and I’m particularly thrilled with our new extra-wide kitchen counter.
Bruce worked with a team of excellent tradespeople and I was impressed with how friendly they all were and how well they all worked together. I would definitely consider Capital Kitchens again if we need any further work on our house.
